The Deep. Its dark moody teal colour represents the feelings of being above deep water. The question of what’s underneath you as your making your way across the surface. Personal experiences come from being scared, and this painting represents this unknown trying to stay calm feeling. Built with layers and layers of colour, melting into one using wet layers and dry layers to give the painting the depth and presence of this body of water and the emotions it holds.
This painting is twinned with Pale Ember which can be hung either to the right or the left of. Created with each other in mind they nudge up together to create a larger landscape.
