JAMAICA INN
A collection of paintings inspired by my two-week artist residency at the iconic Jamaica Inn resort in Ocho Rios
July 2022

“We arrived in paradise at Jamaica Inn, an iconic gem nestled on the most beautiful tropical beach on the north coast of Jamaica, east of Ocho Rios.
I spent my days painting under the palms, swimming in the warm turquoise waters and being inspired by the green, lushness of this place.
The people and the spirit of Jamaica have captured my heart.” Nina Brooke, July 2022
Jamaica Inn has a long standing partnership with The White River Fish Sanctuary which consists of local fishermen, hotel owners and local businesses. Together, they are on a mission to restore the pristine beauty of the Caribbean reefs, to facilitate new coral growth and encourage the return of tropical fish.
Jamaica Inn is on a mission to help restore the pristine beauty of the Caribbean reefs and has partnered with the White River Fish Sanctuary. The White River Fish Sanctuary’s efforts have dramatically increased the growth of coral and encouraged the return of tropical fish to the Caribbean Sea. Since the birth of the Sanctuary over five years ago, Jamaica Inn has facilitated the planting of coral nurseries surrounding their secluded bay and beyond. The hotel’s involvement started with a core group of five fishermen whose lives were greatly affected by the dramatic decrease in the population of fish. The men quickly recognised the urgency of rescuing the reefs, formed an alliance and created the Sanctuary.
