Hawaiian Tropics

This place ... Waikiki Beach, as seen from the air - captured by drone. Images like this make my work as an artist so much easier! What a place and what an incredible view.

In February 2018, I was invited to travel to Hawaii to make a series of paintings for an exhibition at the awesome concept store Aloha Superette. This opportunity was the catalyst for a once-in-a-lifetime tropical adventure and dream surf trip.... As well as a great source of inspiration for a new series of paintings... coming soon!

As you can imagine, the inspiration levels were (quite literally) sky-high and it was a fantastic experience to work with the fabulous folks at Superette and a great opportunity to meet so many amazing Kailua locals. I was also lucky enough to collaborate with fellow aerial artist & surfer Bree Poort

A Traveling Artist

I make art which reflects my experience and response to extraordinary places.

I am drawn to the colour, light and variations of the sea and I will always be captivated by the rolling tides, wild weather and changing seasons - especially when seen from above. Following my trip to Sri Lanka at the end of 2017 (see more here), I decided  I wanted to see more of the world to inspire new collections of work and continue my development as a Traveling Artist - and I'm lucky as I can set up a studio almost anywhere ...

Hawaii 2018!

January in the UK isn't the best month (once you've exhausted the winter walks in Cornwall and fire-side Sunday pub lunches in London) and, as inspiring as the wild weather is, I just can't get enough of that turquoise ocean ...

So ... I've given the studios a spring clean, packed my paintbrushes (and surfboards) and I'm hitting the road for an adventure in Hawaii - this is a totally new location for me, but I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy it!

I'm also working with a fantastic team of Hawaiian businesses and locals who I can't wait to meet in person : Aloha Superette, a concept store; Earthy Andy, amazing health and wellness goddess and I'll be continuing my Artist in Residence programme with The Surfjack Hotel - a boutique beach-side residence in Waikiki.

Keep track of my adventures via Instagram and check out my blog - lots of new work to follow x

North Coast Asylum

North Coast Asylum (NCA) is a new online art gallery with a physical venue opening soon in Newquay. NCA's vision is to create a sanctuary for art and creativity outside of London, and I am so excited to be part of their growing empire! Check out their website to see more - and take a look at the interview we did recently discussing my practice and deep connection to Cornwall.

SRI LANKA

Earlier this year, I spent a week with the good folks at Ceylon Sliders, a boutique hotel, cafe and haven of yoga & surf at Weligama, Sri Lanka. I was invited along as their Resident Artist and the experience was incredible! The colourful people, beautiful views and amazing waves made it a magical trip. I can't wait to share new work, which has been inspired by this special place. Coming soon ... for now, take a look at the film made during my stay!
